1 Man Dead after Being hit by Northstar Train in Elk River

A man was pronounced dead after being hit by a Northstar train in Elk River Wednesday night, according to Metro Transit officials.

It happened in the southbound tracks around 6 :30 p.m. as the man was walking near the them in a non-designated crossing area, Metro Transit reports.

St. Cloud Man Dies after Dune Buggy Rolls Over in Field

A 27-year-old St. Cloud man died after a dune buggy-style vehicle rolled over in Sherburne County early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. in a farm field in Haven Township.

Sherburne County authorities say Luke Lietha Brott died at the scene despite CPR attempts by emergency personnel.

DNR: Conservative Deer Season will Lower Harvest

The deer hunting season is coming up quickly, and this year the harvest limit may be the lowest it’s been since the early 1980s.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources big game program leader Leslie McInenly says the harvest could come in around 120,000; last year, 170,000 deer were harvested.

St. Cloud Police: Man Asked Child at Library to Come Home with Him

A St. Cloud man was arrested Friday after a woman said he put his finger in the mouth of her 3-year-old child at the library and asked the child to come home with him.

The man also offered money to at least one other child at the St. Cloud Public library to come home with him, police said.
